Animal Care Specialist
Animal Care Specialists are responsible for cleaning animal habitats, bathing and feeding animals, participating in animal enrichment programs, match making animals with potential adopters and processing adoptions. The Animal Care position includes working weekends and holidays. Must have high school diploma or GED.
The Volunteer Coordinator would be the point person for all volunteers and act as a liaison between volunteers and staff members. They would respond to all volunteering inquiries, recruit new volunteers, conduct volunteer and foster orientations and training sessions, maintain volunteer files, schedule volunteer shifts, attend events, coordinate all volunteer projects, track volunteer statistics, and develop the volunteer program to include more volunteer positions as the needs of the organization change and grow. As our volunteer program is brand new, this position would involve not only the above responsibilities, but creating and implementing the program from the very beginning. We are looking for an energetic, people person with great interpersonal skills.
The Assistant Groundskeeper is responsible for the general maintenance of the facility and its grounds. This position involves working outdoors, mowing, weed eating, and running errands. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Initial training for the position is M-F 7:30am-4:30pm. The regular schedule is T-Sat 7:30am-4:30pm.
All positions are full time. All employees are eligible for health and dental benefits after 90 days. Bishop Animal Shelter is a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug test is required for all new hires.
